About Me

We live in the beautiful state of South Carolina. I have been married for 30 years to my high school sweet heart and the knight of my dreams. We married while my husband was serving in the US Air Force and we spent our first year and a half together in Knob Knoster, Missouri. We have four children that we are very proud of. Our daughter and son-in-law have given us a beautiful granddaughter. Our oldest son is in the US Navy. Our middle and youngest boys are still living at home and in college and highschool. I’ve raised Shetland Sheepdogs aka shelties for over 15 years and have two of the furry little things. In addition to our shelties we have one cat, a miniature donkey, and one Arabian horse. As you have probably guessed, I am an animal lover.

I have loved to write since I was a small child. I wrote stories and did my own illustrations. In high school, I took every writing course I could. Creative writing was my favorite. After graduating, I attended Heritage University in Fort Mill, SC. While going to college there I was given the privilege of working for an editor of the ministry. Many know it as PTL but few know that a college was part of the ministry. I chose Journalism as my course of study.  Three hundred students were accepted into the school and I felt privileged to be one of them. Sadly, before the end of the first year they announced they were not going to get accreditation. The college folded. However, I walked away with a closer relationship with our Lord and have no regrets in attending.

I grew up in a Catholic home and during my junior high school years our family got away from attending church. God didn’t forget me though. He continued to tug on my heartstrings. I just wasn’t sure what I needed. When I was 16 years old my father got sick. We thought his illness was terminal. A customer came into our hardware store and witnessed to my mother. She accepted the Lord as her savior. Sharing God’s love with me, Jesus became Lord of my life. My entire family was saved and my father was healed. God is so good. My grandmother had prayed for salvation for our family for over 20 years! God is faithful and His Word will not come back void.

As I have grown in the Lord, I have found how important it is to serve Him. When I am only going to church, I find a lack of fulfillment. The Lord has given me different ministries as my life changes. I have taught Junior High Sunday School, I gave the Children’s Sermons in front of the church, my husband and I were Youth leaders, and I coached several Christian Cheerleading squads for over 10 years. I feel God has set my pen to paper as the next ministry in my life. There would be no writing without Him directing my thoughts.

Shortly after I began writing I read one of MaryLu Tyndall’s books, The Redemption, Legacy of the Kings Pirates Triology. I read her acknowledgements and thought she sounded nice so I emailed her. She encouraged me to join the ACFW and HisWriters. MaryLu, Laurie Alice Eakes, and  my crit partners, Kathleen L. Maher, Linore Rose Burkard, and Melanie Dickerson have blessed me with their encouragement and help. I finished my second manuscript and am working on my third now.
